Small Owl: Free Crochet Pattern

Small Owl

Yarn in two colors of your choice

Stitches Used:
Chain (ch)
Half Double Crochet (hdc)
Half Double Crochet Decrease (hdc-dec)
Single Crochet Decrease (sc-dec)
Double Crochet (dc)

Using F hook and contrasting color
Ch 3
1. Turn, sc in 2nd and 3rd chains from hook. Ch 1 and turn.
2. Sc-dec across two sts.
Finish off, leaving a long tail for sewing, and pull the end of the yarn through the stitch.

Using contrasting color, embroider eyelashes onto the owl’s face using a back stitch about 3 rows down from the opening. Sew on the beak. Stuff the owl, then sew the opening shut.

Since the last stitch was made in the center of the back of the owl, whip stitch through both layers of the owl. Sew through both layers back to the middle of the owl, then repeat on the other side.

Sew the wings onto the owl, lining them up with the top of the beak.
